Charles L. Mix, is Pro Football Hall of Famer Ron Mix’s son. He knows the stresses and strains of professional sports by witnessing the toll it took on Ron’s community of pro athletes. No stranger to demands of athletic performance, Charles played competitive basketball, baseball, rugby, was a collegiate rower (SDSU ‘96- ‘99 & Boston U. ‘99- ‘00), and a defensive tackle for semi-pro football teams the New England Storm (2000) and Mass Mutiny (2001). At Boston University, Charles obtained a Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Sports Management.
Prior to representing injured athletes, he spent over 11 years as a full-time sworn member of law enforcement. He held various ranks and titles including, Police Detective, Police Corporal, Hostage Negotiator, and District Attorney Investigator (San Francisco). In those capacities, Charles testified in court over 100 times, wrote over 75 search and arrest warrants, drafted numerous declarations and affidavits, recovered or negotiated the return of over 50 abducted or retained children, and developed investigative specialization in the areas of Child Abduction and Violent Crimes.
Remaining in law enforcement, however, was not to be. Charles found his father’s commitment and passion in assisting injured employees to be contagious. Charles continued to work full time while he attended law school at night so he could join Ron’s firm in 2012. It is with great pride that Charles continues to do the work his father championed and to do so with such a talented, devoted team of attorneys and legal staff.
